01/01/2025 - Geek House Data Dynamics

Introduction

At GHD2, we are fully committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking within our business or any part of our supply chain. While we are a sole trader business, we recognize the importance of maintaining ethical practices and ensuring that all business activities align with the standards set by the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

Modern Slavery Act 2015

The Modern Slavery Act 2015 is a legislative measure in the UK aimed at combating modern slavery and human trafficking. It requires businesses, particularly those with a turnover of £36 million or more, to publish a statement detailing the steps taken to ensure that slavery and human trafficking are not occurring within their business operations or supply chains. Although our business falls below this threshold, we voluntarily adopt this commitment to ethical practices.

Treatment of Staff

As a sole trader, I work independently, but should my business grow and employees be hired, I am committed to treating all staff with respect and fairness. I will ensure: Fair Wages: All employees will be compensated fairly and in line with minimum wage laws. Safe Working Conditions: I will provide a safe and secure work environment. Dignity and Respect: All employees will be treated with dignity and respect, ensuring no exploitation or unfair practices.

Suppliers and Third Parties

While my business operates primarily in the digital space, I do rely on third-party tools and platforms to support my services. I take steps to ensure that any suppliers I work with maintain high ethical standards. This includes: Supplier Vetting: Before engaging with a supplier, I will ensure that they comply with the Modern Slavery Act and are committed to fair working practices. Ongoing Monitoring: I will periodically review supplier practices and their compliance with ethical labor standards.

Research and Ethical Responsibility

I remain committed to conducting research on suppliers and third-party platforms to ensure that they are free from modern slavery or human trafficking practices. If I identify any risks, I will work to mitigate them by seeking alternative suppliers that align with ethical standards.

Sending Customers to Suppliers

As part of my business services, I may recommend suppliers to customers. In such cases, I will: Due Diligence: Ensure that any recommended supplier adheres to the Modern Slavery Act. Transparency: Inform customers of the ethical standards of the suppliers I recommend and encourage them to consider these standards in their own business operations.

Future Commitments

As my business grows, I will continue to strengthen my approach to tackling modern slavery by: Implementing training on modern slavery for any future employees or contractors. Conducting regular reviews of all business and supply chain operations to ensure compliance with the Modern Slavery Act.
